Hosting

This website runs on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The server is located in a data center in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is providing this website securely and reliably.

Visiting the website and server logs

When you open a page, the web server necessarily processes your IP address and the information your browser sends with the request (for example the requested address, browser type and language) in order to deliver the page to you. The web server does not write access logs: this data is processed only for the duration of the request and is not stored afterwards.

Technical error messages from the web server go into an operational log that is limited in size and continuously overwritten. Only in the event of a server-side error can such an entry contain details of the affected request, including the IP address. I use this log exclusively to fix errors.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is delivering the website and ensuring that it runs securely.

TLS encryption

This website is delivered exclusively over HTTPS. The connection between your browser and the server is encrypted with TLS so that third parties cannot read the transmitted content.

Contact by email

If you send me an email, I process your email address, your name (if provided) and the content of your message in order to answer your inquiry. The mailbox is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (web hosting) in Germany.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry relates to a contract or to steps prior to entering into one, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in answering inquiries).

I delete your message as soon as it is no longer needed for this purpose, unless statutory retention obligations (for example under commercial and tax law) require otherwise.

Appointment booking via Cal.com

To book an intro call, a booking calendar from Cal.com can be embedded on the home page. The provider is Cal.com, Inc., 2261 Market Street #4382, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA.

The calendar is not loaded automatically. Only when you click “Load calendar” does your browser connect to Cal.com’s servers. In doing so, your IP address and technical information (for example browser type, language, time zone and the referring page) are transmitted to Cal.com. Cal.com may use its own cookies or similar storage in the embedded calendar. If you book an appointment, Cal.com also processes the information you enter there: name, email address, optional notes and the selected time. The appointment is checked against my calendar and added to it.

The purpose is to arrange and hold the appointment. The legal basis for loading the calendar is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG), which you give with the click. For the booking itself, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract).

Cal.com processes data in the USA. Cal.com, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR). Where a transfer is not covered by it, Cal.com uses the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by reloading the page (the calendar is then no longer loaded) and deleting the site data for cal.com in your browser. Instead of the embedded calendar, you can also book directly on cal.com or send me an email. More in Cal.com’s privacy policy.

Fonts

All fonts are hosted on this website’s own server. Loading the page does not connect to Google Fonts or any other font provider.

Local storage, no cookies, no tracking

If you choose the light or dark color scheme with the switch at the top, your browser stores this choice in its local storage (localStorage, key “theme”). The value stays on your device, is not transmitted to me and is used only to display the color scheme you chose. Under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG this is permitted without consent, because it is strictly necessary for this service you requested. You can delete the entry at any time in your browser settings.

This website does not set any cookies itself and does not use any analytics, tracking or advertising services.
